![]() Neuroanatomical studies
In addition to our molecular, cellular and physiological studies of learning and memory, we have also studied the neuroanatomy of memory. For this purpose, we have made lesions of specific brain regions, including the hippocampus, the amygdala and various cortical areas including the anterior cingulate. Although most of our studies have focused on the role of the hippocampus, amygdala and cortex on spatial and contextual memory, we have also studied the neuroanatomical basis of other forms of learning, including social recognition, social transmission of food preferences and condition taste aversion.
